Sleep Hygiene

Post by JDS74 » Tue Nov 12, 2013 8:05 pm

The subject of sleep hygiene has come up from time to time and should be of interest to all of us.
So ... here are a couple of links on the topics with what appears to be useful information.

Anyone else see a flaw in this point? There are a few things that are typically done in a bed, and not on the dining room table.

"2. Avoid doing anything in your bed other than sleeping and resting. When you watch TV in bed, study for classes, or use it for a hang out area, you send your body mixed signals. Reserving your bed only for rest ensures that when you lay down at night your body knows it is time to fall asleep."

Well, maybe it might be worth your sleep suffering. Besides, don't men usually fall asleep right after?

I see a mixed message, one site says, "RECHARGE WITH POWER NAPS: Naps are an excellent way to recharge your brain and give you an energy burst.", the other says, "Avoid taking naps if you can.".

Besides, that seems to deal with the problem of having a hard time falling asleep. Usually, all I have to do is go horizontal

Dang it, I must be getting old. I completely missed that.
I can think of a few other things done in bed, that we probably should not,
but it is what it is: lying awake worrying, changing position, scratching, having gas.
---"sorry, honey."

I guess that calls for two master bedrooms.
