I have had my machine for 8 days. I read about various machines after I was issued a machine. My insurance requires I lease for 7 months. I went for my 7th day compliance check. I asked about getting a newer version of the machine issued. I was told it was the newest version and that I was committed to it.
I will call my insurance company. This does not sound right.
How did you select the brand and model of your machine?
I have a Phillips Respironics, Remstar Pro, System one, with C flex + per the patient booklet. The back of the unit says Remstar Pro, DO, 460P plus has a serial number.
I actually think it is less expensive to purchase online than via my insurance as I have to meet a new deductible starting Sept 1,2013.
Any comments or advice is appreciated.

Re: Machine selection
This is the latest version of the PR System One Series 60 CPAPs. The fact that it is a Pro is good. It records full efficacy data. It is, however, a straight pressure machine instead of an APAP. Many people prefer fixed pressure and so having a Pro instead of the Auto is not a big deal.Mary MM wrote: I have a Phillips Respironics, Remstar Pro, System one, with C flex + per the patient booklet. To list your equipment, login to cpaptalk. Look for the User Control Panel link in the upper left corner and click on it. Then select the Profile tab. Once you are there, click on the Edit Equipment link and that will give you the pull down lists. Your equipment will be listed as a PR System One 60 Series Pro CPAP Machine.

Since you are starting a new deductible in under a month, you may check the online price
of your machine against your anticipated costs with insurance.
Bear in mind that it will not count against your deductible, unless the online vendor is "in network" (not likely, though)
I was sold the Resmed S9 Elite (equivalent to your machine), Even though I have kept the Elite, I purchased the S9 Autoset
from our hosts, and continue to use the humidifier on my Autoset. Usually rental is on the machine with the humidifier
purchased outright (you may have already paid for it)

Re: Machine selection
You got a good machine, the auto only fluctuates the preasure as it is constantly checking to see if it needs to change ... Nice feature, as our needs may change from one sleeping position to the next ... Also as times change, so may our needs!
Your machine has the capability to manually set the preasure from 4cm H2O - 20cm H2O, but it will stay there all night, except for "ramp" if you use it at the beginning of the night.
The model 560P is the same as you have, except it is an Auto, and has A-Flex ... Uses the same humidifier as the one your using now.

Why wouldn't you want to meet your deductible. Then the rest of the year you will be deductable free. Unless you deductible supercedes buying online. I wouldn't see how the price could be that much different. My Insurance was billed over $2500 for my machine and they only paid $1100 to the DME Provider and I had to pay nothing out of pocket.Mary MM wrote:I have had my machine for 8 days. Re: Machine selection
From the perspective of just the machine by itself, I'd say you did fairly well.
The nicest thing about the newer Respironics system ones, is that you're able to upgrade to a heated tube should humidity become an issue.
Good luck!
