I notice that the fitting instructions for the TAP PAP mouthpiece said to bite gently while fitting the old mouthpiece. Now they just say to suck on it while pushing on the back of your teeth with your tongue for fitting the new mouthpiece.
Do you get a good enough fit if you don't bite the mouthpiece gently while fitting?
Curious what people are experiencing with fitting the new mouthpiece? Are the instructions working for you as given?
Thanks very much.

Re: Question about new TAP PAP mouthpiece
You mean there were instructions I was supposed to read??
Actually...I didn't bite the second one at all and in fact I didn't suck all that hard either. I learned from the first one that too much sucking created something so tight that I couldn't remove it without feeling like I was yanking out my teeth.
So I only did a very gentle sucking action and just had tongue resting against the back of my front teeth.
I think there is a tendency for people to maybe go to the extreme with the sucking or pushing with the tongue. Thinking if a little is good then a lot is even better and in this case it really isn't needed.
I think the only purpose that "biting" would do is just push the mouth guard up against the top teeth because there is nothing to create any impression on the bottom of the mouth guard. So again people bit hard and push hard thinking that doing so would make a better fit. Biting isn't even needed. Doesn't hurt to do it but it really serves no purpose except to sort of hold the plastic in place while it is cooling and very gentle sucking and tongue placement does the same thing.
The idea is to get a fit that is stable enough that movement won't occur but it doesn't have to be 2 sizes too small girdle tight to accomplish the goal.
