I've been on the hose for just about 5 months now, and I'm not feeling any progress. But the worst part is that I just lost my job and my health insurance. I used my remaining flex $$ to stock up on supplies - air filters, a few hoses, replacement masks, etc. (about $1K worth of stuff before my company could take it back! whoo!).
I'm job hunting for now, but - what do you do when you don't have insurance anymore but you're still undergoing treatment? I don't feel like I'm having much progress, but it's not like I can go in for another sleep study right now or even an office visit. I'm living off of severance and unemployment right now. I'm going to download the Sleepyhead software to start checking out my data for major anomalies - if something's truly crazy I'd put an office visit on a credit card or something like that - but in the meantime, what the heck do you do? Just keep treatment as usual even though it's not working? Try to just hang in until I get insurance again?

Post your software results here and if you have problems, you'll get more help here than from a supplier or probably even a doctor, and once you get stabillized, you'll never need another doc.

Black Shampoo, I just posted to your other thread about software and your machine. I'm so sorry about your circumstances and that you were given an Escape. Please stick around, maybe we can "think outside the box" about how to support you.

How long have you been out of work? Did you look at COBRA?
Online prices are often much lower. The host of this site, cpap.com, is at least as good as the other "mainstream" cpap supply sites. Many supplies can even be bought on ebay for a lot less than name brand parts such as filters or hoses.
When you don't have insurance, your local DME will probably REALLY try to rob you vs. the insurance company's negotiated rate.
