Resmed S9 Software
Hello Sleepers,
I'm brand spanking new to this site and the CPAP world. I have a Resmed S9 and would also like to know where I can get the rescan software please. Can anyone help me with this?

http://www.resmed.com/us/products/resscan/resscan.html You need to create a login. I have read totally bogus information seems to be acceptable, and there is some kind of checkbox that needs to be checked related to doctors care or authorization or some such.
The earlier poster gave a link of sleepyhead. I've not used Rescan but form what I have seen I would use SH. I do use SH and my own homegrown software.
Welcome to the forum and to being a hosehead.

Re: Resmed S9 Software
I primarily use ResScan, SH sometimes. There is a link to a video tutorial for ResScan in my signature below if you want to check that out.
Try them both, they are free!

This is correct.. bogus information works. Just be sure to check the "I PRESCRIBE ResMed Products (Doctors, Sleep Technicians, other Health Professionals)" Your account will be automatically activated. If you check the BUY/SELL box the account will be reviewed by a rep and it will take a couple days.
I just downloaded ResScan ver 4.1

In particular, we need to know what model S9 you have. It should say something like Escape, Elite, Autoset, etc. near the power button.

Re: Resmed S9 Software
OK.. it's been a while since I've been here but here I am...
Hello every one
I just finished a new sleep study in order to qualify for Medicare's policy ...
I've been using a CPAP for 15 years for those who don't remember me.
Next week they are bringing me a new ResMed S9 .. and I have now idea how this machine works
or if it's any good. It will be the autoset one ...
Right now I'm using a RemStar Pro 2 with c-flex anf just love it.
I've also got a RemStar Auto with A-flex, it's by my recliner and i use it for naps.. Both of my machines are set at 12 cmp, pressure.
Can someone tell me the difference between what I've got now and the ResMed S9 auto ?
The only thing I know is that it's suppose to be quiter, but noise doesn't bother me..
Also, does anyone have access to the set up manual for the ResMed ? I've got manuals for my other machines and just like having
them as I can set or change whatever I want to.
I know this is long but would really appreciate any help, advice or anything ....
Robert

Here is a direct link to a pdf you can download.RobertinTX wrote:Also, does anyone have access to the set up manual for the ResMed ?

Hard to explain the differences...different brands...different algorithms so different way of doing things but only different...not really better or worse than what you are used to.
I have used both the Respronics M Series and PR S1 models and now also a ResMed machine. Minor pros and cons with any of them but none a deal breaker.
EPR feels different from Flex relief but again ...just different both are quite comfortable in their own way.
The reduction in pressure during exhale is more dramatic but still comfortable if you want to use exhale relief.
While there may be a few people who will feel like they do better with one brand over another I don't think that for the majority of the people it will make much difference. They both do a great job.
SleepyHead software will work with the S9 AutoSet or you can use ResScan if you wish.
I have SleepyHead links in my signature line.
You can see what ResScan has to offer in this tutorial
http://montfordhouse.com/cpap/resscan_tutorial/
Send me a private message if you want to try the latest ResScan version. It is a lot like Encore...big, bloated and most of the stuff doesn't pertain to actual patient data and about as fast as a 3 legged turtle with arthritis.

Re: Resmed S9 Software
Be sure it's "AutoSet". There's also an "Escape Auto," which you DO NOT want. There is no such thing as an "S9 Auto."RobertinTX wrote:Next week they are bringing me a new ResMed S9 .. and I have now idea how this machine works or if it's any good. It will be the autoset one ...

S9 AutoSet vs. PRS1 Auto is like Chevy vs. Ford. Roughly equivalent overall. Slight differences is what's screwed up or good on one vs. the other.
S9 requires an expensive adapter for DC power, probably comes with a non-washable water tank, but you can buy a cleanable one for around $30. That S9 can use a heated hose if you need one, as can some newer PRS1 machines. The S9 sort of feels a little slicker and nicer to use. The PRS1 seems sturdier.
