I finally got to see my results
I finally got to see my results
After a few months of not seeing my sleep study results beyond a textual summary, I have finally gotten hold of a few more pages. Their quality isn't the greatest, as they're a printout of a scan of a fax of a printout, but they're mostly legible. I recently noticed that my single pages had such notations as 001/007 on them and had such cryptic notations as 7pg in titles. I worked up the courage to as my doctor's receptionist about it, she grabbed the person who handles documents and she got me printouts. It turns out that my regular doctor gave me access to the whole documents a few months ago, but a computer bug meant that I only got to see the first page of each fax.

Re: I finally got to see my results
What I found interesting about the studies that were done was that I didn't have any apneas, just hypopneas and RERAs. And no, I wasn't able to get into a comfortable position in my first night. That bed was far too hard for my tastes and made an annoying clicking noise every time I moved.

Re: I finally got to see my results
Just scanning the stuff which seems to be also from years ago, I agree that Hypopneas are the major issue. Also the hi number of arousals and very few REMs. I keep reading that those with insomnia are not candidates for routine PSG tests.
Your story about the PSG study night happened to me too. Twice. In the titration study from a year ago that took place on Friday or Saturday night, the bed was squeaking like an old boat. Also that was the night that they vacuumed the upstairs level. It was terrible noise- wise and I could not sleep.
During my more recent sleep study I found out that my room had no thermostat and the temperature there was probably in the 60s. I stopped the study at 2 a. m. and took a Taxi back home (where my bedroom is always at 75 F). Those devils tried to charge Medicare $1,750 for that "study". But got approval for $450. I have yet to complain about it that they should get may be $50 max.

Re: I finally got to see my results
For temperature issues, I ended up having fans brought into my room to cool it down. Did you have problems with other people snoring and watching TV in their rooms? I can even tell you which radio station the tech was listening to during my first nap in the MSLT (it was the local news station, it has a very distinctive pattern and time signals).
