I got my first machine in 06 a Resmed S8 elite, Last year I picked up an S8 Autoset II for a good price. I have changed jobs and have new insurance and they want me to do a full blown sleep study... again. So I have been putting it off. Well I've met my deductible now for this year and figured I'd go fro broke and get everything done this year. I called today and they said IF they could read my card they might be able to skip the study and just give me new DME.
How can I set this S8 Autoset to record to the card, and is there anyway to be sure the info is on there? I tried once and it didn't seem to work. Also can someone point me to the clinician's manual?

Re: Resmed S8 Autoset info?
Koz,
Type in the search box near the top- S8 card reader
If your card is in the machine, it will automatically record your data. You need a special card reader for this machine. I remember that I put the card in the machine and then I had to flip it upside down to put in the reader.
If you don't have that card reader and software just put the card in your machine tonight. Take it out tomorrow and mail it. (After you turn off your machine in the morning, wait a little while to be sure your data is on the card before you take it out.)

I have been searching, and I am running into dead links and what appears to be out dated equipment. I'll keep digging.

You should be able to see the data that is on the machine via the LCD screen but only if Smart Data things are enabled in the Clinical menu. I am going to send you a link for the provider manual for your machine that should help you figure out how to get to the clinical menu and see what the settings are. That way you can at least get to the data on the LCD screen.
I don't remember if having Smart Data "On" affects what is written to the smart card or not.
With the S9 machines if a similar setting is not turned on then the only data that gets written to
the card is hours of use.
As you have discovered...the card reader is pricey and hard to get. Now if you could find a friendly DME that happens to have the card reader and ResScan software.....for a few bucks maybe they would print you off your report.
