PR System One heated tubing....it's here!!!

Post by akcpapguy » Tue Feb 28, 2012 4:44 pm

Just got to play with the new (redesigned) System One with it's heated tubing....very nice.

A few things I noticed, the tubing temp and humidification settings are independant of one another. Housing is black with a dark silver side panel. The humidifier chamber had a new top and the chamber itself now has a smoky look to it instead of a crystal clear look. The tubing still swivels on top of the humidifier, howeveer it is a smaller diameter much like the Resmed Climateline. Connecting and removing the tubing seemed like it may be easier for those patients with compromised dexterity and/or hand strength.

All in all it appears to be an overall better product, however time will tell as always.

Sorry I was unable to take any pics of it.

Ask any questions you may have, typing this on the fly so may have left out some details.....

How is the LCD screen did they finally improve that, giving more data, and looking better that a $2.00 calculator.?

No, still the same display...I know that's big for some people, however with the ease with which you can get the software these days I consider the screen a moot point.

Haha hey Den, nope still alive up here just busy with work, school and hockey!!!

I see that post now, nothing like getting your hands on the product though to really get a feel for it.

A couple of things I forgot in my first post....

1. The only machine available in the new form factor and the heated tubing is the S1 APAP currently.....they will be phasing the rest of the models in later in the year.

2. You probably will not be able to retrofit the heated tubing to your old S1

3. The power supply has been enlarged, no idea what that means, but now it is roughly the same size as the S9 power supply. The connection to the CPAP itself is also larger and WILL NOT fit in the old S1.

4. Respironics will be reworking the comfort gel full mask and putting the comfort gel blue type gel in the seal, and renaming to the comfort gel blue full.

5. They will also be releasing a new fullface mask this year....sounds interesting, more details as i get them.
