Pressure loss?

Post by Vally » Mon Feb 27, 2012 6:33 am

Is it possible for a CPAP machine to be losing pressure? I believe my machine is. It is several years old, used every night since I got it. If it is losing pressure is there any way to fix it? No insurance atm.

Someone, possibly a DME or hospital sleep lab connected with a home health care service would probably check your machine with a manometer for free if you explained the situation. You can also buy (or make, but it's beyond my level of expertise) a manometer for between 50- 80$ from our sponsor. Check Ebay. If the pressure is low to can titrate up to compensate for the difference. Since you have no insurance you may have to pick up a used machine. I have seen some at very reasonable prices on the forum, craigs list, and the used machine dealer.

Could also check with the local Lung Association if they can help--or know who would.
