TAP dental implant

Post by mscsusn » Sun Feb 26, 2012 10:51 am

Does anyone have any information about the Dental procedure called TAP as an alternate methed of using the CPAP machine. From what I gather it is a device that is placed in the mouth at night like a mouth guard.

Do a search for TAP Oral Appliance (they are not implants) on this forum or on Google. There are several models available through a qualified dentist (knowledgeable about sleep medicine). OAs do work for some people - those with milder forms of sleep apnea. They may be a useful add-on to xPAP therapy (x=C, A, or Bi). I use a Silent Nite OA in addition to CPAP, and have had an average AHI of 1.87 for the last 360 nights.
