why heated humidifer?
anyone know why they are better than non heated ones attached to cpap machine?

Heated water creates more water vapor. Simple as that.

Machine-created airflow dries our respiratory passages,
Moisture helps keep surfaces there moist and more able to handle allergens and microbes.

There are what's commonly called "passover" non-heated humidifiers. Some people like the humidity but don't like the heat...

By heating the water, the air can hold a higher level of water. As the air temp cools the humidity comes out as rainout. (or Rain) the warmer the air the more moisture it can hold. Jim
