Need advice on pads and liners
Need advice on pads and liners
I've only had my CPAP machine for a month and I still haven't settled on a mask and currently have two that I'm trying. The first mask is a ResMed Mirage Micro and the other is a ResMed Mirage Softgel mask. The Micro is ligher and seems to leak less than the Softgel but the Micro leaves red marks and sores on the side of my nose. On the other end, the softgel is comfortable but it leaks quite a bit expecially when I switch from my back to my side when sleeping. Both of them have leak problems with I turn on my sides but the softgel more so because of the exra weight and size. If I had to choose one or the other today I would probably pick the Micro but I worry about getting nose sores and I'm really tired of the red marks in the mornings.
So... Given the red marks and the nose sores if I stick with the Micro which works at preventing sores and red marks and preventing leaks when I turn on my side, mask liners or nasal pads? In addition, can anyone give me any advice on the value of Apena pillows and their ability to prevent leaks?

One thing that might help is a hose hanger which takes the weight of the hose off your mask.

Re: Need advice on pads and liners
I would have never thought about my queston in that sort of context (femine hygene) but in hindsight I agree that it was a pretty stange twist . What was even more interesting was your link to a solution involving the use of Panty Liners as a nose pad as that was certainly the last products I would have thought of to use . I wish the author of the post would put a detailed description of how she went about creating her solution. In this case a solution is a soluton regardless of the nature of the beginning product. That being said can someone that has used the gel pads and/or the mask liner give me more details on how successful they work?tetragon wrote:Try this thread: viewtopic.php?t=3103
