When does one REALLY need to replace mask parts?

Per Resmed, replace the cushion when it's no longer translucent and becomes opaque. Is that really necessary?

Why would it be necessary to replace the hard plastic parts of masks like the Micro, Activa-LT, etc., as long as they are being cleaned routinely? Is there a reason to?

My S9 Autoset has an internal reminder that can be set to remind the user to replace the silicone parts at timed intervals. . .

I wait until I can't get a seal any more on the cushions on my ffm before replacement.

I think as a shareholder I would see it as a great suggestion for a business to request their customers throw out the products they purchased last month and buy again. It keeps corporate profits high. Other than that I can see no reason if you are properly cleaning items and they are not broken.

I usually change mine when I accidently stand on my mask, I ask for a new one and I get it, I have several masks now for spares lol

I told my brother he needed a new mask when I saw he was using duct tape on the silicon mask to fix a tear and was supergluing the frame together.

SU,
Medicare provides me with new seals for my Quattro monthly. But the ones I'm using are two months old and seal well and look perfect. I'll bet I can get 6 months out of them.
