Mask leaks early morning

Post by Elle » Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:28 pm

I am so frustrated. I have great numbers so I am grateful for that and although I can't seem to get two 'rested feeling' nights in a row I sleep fine. But every morning my mask starts to leak just a bit too early for me wanting to get up. I am finally forced up because adjusting and moving it around doesn't work and I end up wide awake and angry to have had that last bit of sleep ruined. There are times during the night when it might slip and just giving it a nudge puts it back in place but in the morning it is almost like it wasn't made for my face ...even though it felt perfect going to sleep and held well during the night.

I actually set up two masks with short hose ready to go so that I could just switch over in the morning for that last hour but by time I get up to do that I just get up...angry. Today I was cursing the mask and ripped it off.

Does anyone have any ideas for why this might be happening? It is not affecting my therapy but it is sure affecting my nerves.

Probably facial oils are accumulating a bit during the night and are more pronounced near morning.
The added facial oils or moisture is letting the mask slide around a little more.

I guess I need a Swift Fx

It made me really angry this morning. I was also wondering whether I go to sleep puffier in the face but that decreases over night?

I was ready to throw in the towel (mask) this morning. Not a pleasant way to wake up. I guess it could be worse. My daughter's cat wakes her up before her alarm every day. Better to throw a mask across the room than a cat.

Wonder if a little liner would help absorb any oil or moisture?

I should try that Pugsy. The mask is so great otherwise.

Over night your facial muscles relax which actually makes your face slightly smaller in the AM.

I guess I have to either start off with it tight or get used to tightening in the morning. *sigh*. Would deal better with this minor inconvenience at a less grumpy time of day.....hate waking up too early.

Thanks for the replies.
