Ok, I am going around in circles trying to post the sleepyhead data. As an FYI, I have windows vista, the basic version.
I take a screenshot and then I am totally lost as to what to do next. I have tried saving it in various media programs like to no avail.
I can save it in word but then I am unsuccessful in converting it to a necessary jpg image.
I tried seeing if I could activate the a snipping program that comes with some vista programs but I was unsuccessful in finding it.
I have tried doing a google search and found nothing that was helpful
I have tried reading Pugsy's instructions to no avail.
Can someone who has Vista give me step by step instructions?
Thanks!

Re: Going around in circles/Posting Data
Basic Vista may NOT have have the snipping tool available. I am not sure.
If you go to All Programs/Accessories...look in there for the Snipping Tool...if it isn't there..then perhaps that is why.
If you do find the Snipping Tool...right click on the line and choose "Pin to Start Menu"...and this will have it available on your Start Menu so that you can find it easily and quickly.
If you find Snipping Tool..click on it to activate it...the screen will go grey and you just use the box to dray a box around the image you want kept.
Once you have the image...click on File...save as....name it whatever you want. In file type...look to see if you have jpg...choose it if you see that option. On some computers that option is not shown initially but most Windows computers will accept jpg files...so what you do to change the file type is name it as a jpg file....Example.... you name the file report Feb17... then to make it a jpg file.... just add dot (.) jpg to the file name. This will give you Feb17.jpg as the name.
Save it to your desktop so you can find it easily for uploading to photo host site.
If you don't have Snipping Tool available there are some free screen shot programs available.
Screen Hunter is one. There are others.
Once you get your screen shot saved then you just follow my other directions for uploading the file to a place like photobucket and copy the IMG address with the brackets and past in a forum post to get it to show up. When you first past the address you will see only the IMG brackets and the code for the address. Use preview button to see if the image shows up.

If you have the Snipping Tool...this may help you if you have trouble managing it.
It is Vista Basic that doesn't have the snipping tool http://www.pcworld.com/article/137099/a ... _tool.html
If you have Vista version other than Basic and don't see the Snipping Tool then it may be turned off..just need to turn it on
If you have a version of Vista other than Home Basic, you already have the Snipping Tool screen capture utility: Choose Start, All Programs, Accessories, Snipping Tool. If you don't see it there, it may not be activated. Go to Control Panel and open Program and Features (you may have to click Programs first). In the task pane on the left, click Turn Windows features on or off. If necessary, click Continue when prompted by User Account Control. Scroll through the list of features, check the box next to Tablet PC Optional Components, and click OK. Turning on these features gives you not only the Snipping Tool, but also the Tablet PC Input Panel, Windows Journal, and other stylus-related features.
And once you do have Snipping tool active..here is how it works

Hi Pugsy,
You are so wonderful.
I downloaded screenhunter and everything is fine.
For various reasons, I may wait a few days before posting anything.

Another option: the free but very good graphic/photo program Irfanview. Just Google for it. Have the desired SH window open, then press Alt-Print Screen on the keyboard. Open up a blank Irfanview window, do edit/paste, crop off the unwanted parts, and save as jpg file.

Windows Vista is crap.
Microsoft should have done the right thing and offered free upgrades to 7 when it came out.
