Question About UltraMirageFullFaceMask

Post by DoriC » Mon Feb 13, 2012 10:24 pm

I know facial structures are all different but I was wondering what postion most of you use for the headrest adjustment? I've always used the one up from the bottom position for Mike but he's been leaking a lot lately near his eye and around his mouth and I'm starting to think I might need to change the angle but I'm not quite sure what each adjustment does. The manual says to start in the upper position(#4).I've put it on my face and tried different notches but I don't exactly "get it". Thanks for some input.

I have my UM FFM beside me while I'm typing this Dori. Masks with this type of setup the higher you go the further away the top will be away from the top of the nose. I've always used the bottom notch, it gives me a better seal because its closer to me. Funny you make mention of this now Dori. Last night, I finally had to switch to nasal mask due to too mask farting, very annoying. I saw this from one post and have used it as my holy grail, it works: If the leak is say on the bottom right (like mine is at the moment), then tweak goes to the top left. My guess is a matter of offsetting.

Dori, this is the way I would do it:
Only adjust the top part for major leaks to bring the cushion closer to him. Now if leak near his nose say on right side since he's a left sided sleeper, then I'd tweak the bottom left strap.

I tried to tweak mine last night, but I just wasn't in the mood for a full adjustment at 4 in the morning.
Let us know how things go.
