'Bout a year now with Facehugger - lost a few pounds, quit snoring and (I guess) am less prone to nodding off at in-appropriate times.....
Thing is, have always had the ability to doze/sleep just about anywhere, anytime - not sure I considered that a big problem (never nodded off driving a car or that sort of thing)
Places I have fallen asleep:
Movies - snoring was a problem
Disneyworld - Small World ride with the kids - horrible nightmares
Fishing Charter off the Atlantic Coast of Florida - Bro's bachelor party, they have pics of me sleeping in the fighting chair.
Bus - several times, woke up one time in the wrong state.
Ferry Boat - they freaked out because un-attended cars during unload is a security issue, deckhand finally found me snoring on the upper deck (nice day, was getting a little sun up there)
Dept. of Licensing- who hasn't?
Sears - waiting on wifey, found a reclining lawn chair up by the tool dept.
Kids soccer/softball/volley ball/swimming etc..the Soccer moms were hip to this and would be on me pretty quick.
My personal favorite:
Years ago, (too many) finals week of my Senior year at the UW - pulled consecutive all-nighters, finished that last final - walked to the bus stop, saw the next bus wasn't due for 20 minutes and decided to lean up against a tree behind the bus stop - woke up 9 hrs later in a driving rainstorm covered in sap from the tree with a cop yelling at me to go home and sleep it off.........

Re: Not quite narcoleptic.......
Ha - don't think I ever had symptoms that extreme. (Think if I fell asleep during conversations I would have hit the sleep study much, much sooner)
I have always had the ability to sleep when it was time to "shut er down" - no insomnia or that sort of thing. Hell I can sleep standing if I lock my knees and have a post or something to lean against.
Always figure this ability was an advantage - especially when I was a bit younger and staying out til all hours and still putting in a 10hr shift the next day - figured the ability to supplement my 4-6hrs of sleep a night with daytime cat naps was a plus.
