First of all, yes, I do know that I shouldn't sleep in, but I decided to try it anyway. I have a co-worker who mentioned how much better he feels after sleeping in, so I decided to try it for myself for one day. The short version of what will follow is that I felt worse after the attempt (and in reality, that co-worker of mine really should work on his sleep. Only allocating six hours, then dozing off on the 401 if he has to drive in rush-hour traffic is less than ideal. (And why on earth is he telling me so much about his sleep? Especially since he doesn't like my responses.))
Onto yesterday's adventures in sleeping in. I woke up at my usual time, and decided that I'd try to sleep in. It seems that waking at my usual time is quite ingrained at this point, as it was a bit hard to get back into sleep mode. But I managed it, and woke up 90 minutes after my usual time. I felt a bit worse than I did the first time I woke up (I'm not counting all the times I briefly woke to change position), so I don't think I'll try that again.
I then sit comfortably on my sofa, with a light blanket keeping my legs warm. My socks are at the other end of it, and I don't want to leave my warm nest. So I sprawl across. It's so warm and cosy and… what's this strange humming from my nose, and why do I have this headache all of a sudden? Oh. It's 90 minutes later again, I'm in a position I used to like sleeping in (legs curled under me, hands under the pillow (or cushion), face mushed into the pillow), but can't use anymore because of how loud the air hitting the pillow is, and no mask on. Well, this second bit of sleeping in had me feeling awful.
Sleeping in really isn't for me.

Sounds like "sleep drunkenness" is underfoot.
...other than food...

Well, excuse me for not having a "sleep barista" on-hand to cut me off.deltadave wrote:Sounds like "sleep drunkenness" is underfoot.
