Same mask and hose with both machines.
The Sleepeasy machine is noisy but when I put it on the floor the "system" (mask/honse/machine) is quiet.
The IntelliPAP is a very quiet machine but noise comes through the hose into the mask and is too noisy.
Any help with tihis?

Re: Noisy quiet machine/mask and quiet noisy machine
I am having the same issue with my IntelliPap. Fortunately, by listening to soft music, I have no problems falling asleep. But it is annoying.John W. wrote:Same mask and hose with both machines.

I have heard it can be a mask issue as I have a quatto FF mask. So you might want to look into that possibility.
Suggestions I have read are to move it underneath the bed which isn't an option for me. You also might move it as far away from your bed as possible. I think I have read that it can't be moved further than 12 feet.
Oh, I am not sure about this but I think covering the hose might help with the noise.
Good luck.

Re: Noisy quiet machine/mask and quiet noisy machine
Sometimes, what I think is mask noise is actually air blowing onto the bedding from my mask vent
Now, I pat stuff down around me first, and it usually works.

Re: Noisy quiet machine/mask and quiet noisy machine
As Chunky said, the vent air can make quite a noise if it is hitting the bedding around your mask. I also pat down the bedding to be sure the vent air is unimpeded. Masks can magnify the sound of the air coming in from the hose and your in/exhales... I would think even more so with a FFM. A hose cozy does, indeed, help muffle the sound a great deal. As for any sound from the machine itself.... the IP is very quiet, but some folks have issues with vibratory sounds that can often be remedied by putting a cushy mouse pad under the machine. White noise or running a fan in the room helps, too.
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.
Re: Noisy quiet machine/mask and quiet noisy machine
I'm experiencing the same IntelliPAP issue with the added problem that I'm now hearing a high pitch whistle/whine from the machine and it is coming out the mask as well. It has been driving my wife a bit nuts so she asked me to switch back to my PRS1 last night. Her response this morning in regard to the PRS1..."I love that machine".John W. wrote:Same mask and hose with both machines.

After hearing about how quiet the IntelliPAP is supposed to be, I've got to believe mine might have some issues. I'm going to chat with DeVilbiss and see...the high pitch whistle and sound is twice as loud as my PRS1 at least.
Re: Noisy quiet machine/mask and quiet noisy machine
Thanks for the help - to be clear the sleepeasy machine is noisly but if I put it on the floor all is good. The Intellepap machine is very quiet - the noise I hear is coming through the hose into the mask. I have been using a CPAP for 5-6 years now and I am sure it is not a mask issue (the mask itself or venting onto bedding etc). I also have a Puritan Bennett GoodKnight 420G I bought 3-4 years ago to be a "travel" machine and it did the same thing as the Intellepap - if putting in on the floor or on a good mouse pad would solve the problem that would be great - but it doesn't.
I will try a hose cover and see if that helps.
Thanks,
John

I had two ResMed S9 Autos that made different sounds.
