Sleep specialist didn't know re: pressure settings

Post by napstress » Fri Feb 10, 2012 4:37 pm

My sleep specialist didn't know that my machine could be set so the minimum and maximum pressures are the same in A-Flex mode. She said the DME told her that there had to be at least a difference of two.

I came close to saying, "If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside..."
Epworth Sleepiness Scale: 14
Diagnostic study: overall AHI: 0.2 events/hour; overall RDI: 45 events/hour
Titration study: AHI: 6.1; RDI: 27; CPAP pressures: 5-8cm

Not-tired behind my eyes and with a clear, cool head!

I can almost forgive them for not knowing that. It does sort of seem illogical.

Consider yourself lucky your DME knows that the APAP can be set to something other than 4-20.
