Please help! got attention message about SD card on my S9

Post by josh73 » Mon Feb 06, 2012 11:27 pm

Tried to start my Cpap and go to sleep, and my machine says: Attention Read only Card, please remove, unlock and reinsert card. Anyone know what this means!? Not letting use machine

There should be a little tab on the side of the SD card. Slide it to the non-locked position.

After you make sure the lock tab is in unlock position and you still have the messge try popping the card out and reinserting it. I get that message once in awhile when I put my card back in and the out/in maneuver fixes it. Also, the S9 sometimes likes to do weird things. You can straighten it out the quickest by unplugging the power cord, wait a minute, and plug back in. Just like Windows, it wants to be rebooted every once in awhile for no good reason. I had to do that this morning because my S9 wasn't showing the correct sleep numbers on the LCD screen. Reboot fixed it.

It is very easy for the card to get locked. Most slid in so that the card will lock on the way in. I've had to unlock mine numerous times before it would stay unlocked.

I felt so dumb after i realized that i locked it myself. I thought i screwed something up by reading my results in Sleepyhead/Rescan. I was very relieved once i realized what i did.

The "lock" on an SD card is a very cheap switch. If it breaks, get a new card at walmart or force it. You are very unlikely to abuse a card to the point where it won't work without tools. Even without the plastic case, they work fine most of the time if you can slide them to the other device straight.
