My brother passed away, and he had two CPAP machines. One is a brand new Respironics DS200HS
REMstar Plus M Series CPAP with C-Flex, Heated Humidifier & SmartCard in a black carrying bag, and the other is a
used Respironics REMaster Heated Humidifier And REMaster Pro With C-Flex. It appears to be in fair condition, and knowing him, he probably
did not use it much as he never did do the things he should to take care of himself.
I know nothing about these machines, except that it seems that the new one is quite expensive.
I am trying to settle his estate, and during this time, my mother passed away as well. She had been living with me for the past 5 years
and I cared for her by myself. She had Alzheimer's, was nearly blind from macular degeneration, and had serious heart disease. Mercifully,
her heart took her so she went peacefully in her sleep. I am now trying to raise money to pay her funeral expenses. I had already paid for my
brother's and am not financially equipped to just write a check for hers. I had to borrow money for her funeral costs (over 5200) and still have
to pay for her lawyers (conservatorship).
No good deed goes unpunished, yes?
Anyway, if anyone can tell me how to sell these machines, I would be very grateful. I'm not sure if we are supposed to post email addresses, so I will just
check back.
Kindest regards to all of you!

If he was on Medicare, he may not have owned the new machine.
Don't get in trouble.

I would donate them to Goodwill.
If I absolutely thought they should be sold, I would list them on Craigslist for $75 and $25 respectively.
But yes, make sure that he actually owned them. I believe Medicare sometimes rents them.

I agree with the other responses. It's sad but true, but used cpap machines are worth very little. Look at Craigslist and see what people are asking. The new one, M series wasn't too popular and was only made a few years. You could try to get a couple hundred for it, but probably not much more.
And sorry about your Brother and Mother. Must have been hard losing them both.
Take care,
Jamis

Sorry for your loss.
Unfortunately, an M series Plus is not worth much. It's an older model baseline manual CPAP. Other model have much better features, and the newer models are greatly improved.
A brand new equivalent model is available online for $400 or so online. That's new, unused, current model with warranty.
You might find a sucker on Craigslist who will pay $100. Don't go by prices others are asking on Craigslist. Like much medical equipment, there's a list price, a seller's fantasy price, a price insurance will pay, and a realistic price. Lots of Craigslist sellers see a phony bill to their insurance from their local supplier and want a large percent of the phony price.
For instance, my current top of the line current model auto CPAP machine is probably $1500 locally with insurance, $2500 or more list price, $3000 fantasy billing price, $700 online, and bought for $200 from Craigslist. The seller asked $300, and got no offers after a week until I offered $200.
