Is my SD card/Sleepyhead not working?

Post by carolinasoon » Mon Feb 06, 2012 8:28 am

I just started on CPAP treatment in the past two weeks, and have been watching this site. I am trying to absorb some of the technical info offered as well as benefitting from the great daily advice given. I have downloaded Sleepyhead to try and read my daily stats. When looking at the overview, I have nice graph bars for usage and session times, but all other lines (AHI, pressure, settings, leaks) just give me a straight line across, saying no AHI, no leaks, etc.
In the middle section, a "cube" floats around saying "no data". What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

First check your machine. Make sure it is the Elite and not the Escape.
If it is the Elite...go to the clinical setup menu and make sure that Sleep Quality is set to "ON" and not "Usage"....see instructions and images here....http://www.apneaboard.com/ResMed/ResMed ... Setup.html

When Sleep Quality is set to "Usage"...you only get what you are seeing in regards to hours of use.
When Sleep Quality is set to "On" then the Elite will record all the other data and make it available to you.
You will have to sleep another night to get the data..I don't think the change will be retroactive to the past 2 weeks nights of usage.

Do you have the Clinical manual for your machine? If not, let me know and I will send it to you.

Now I am really showing my newness. My manual is for both the Elite and Escape. I have the Escape. I did check and it is set as "Usage".

The Escape doesn't gather any data other than hours of use. That little SD card only contains compliance hours of use to satisfy insurance requirements.
The Elite is a full data machine.

Were you told that your machine offered data? Technically it does...but only hours of use.
Only had it 2 weeks? I would be telling the DME I want at least the S9 Elite.
Avoid anything with Escape in the name.

Always go by model name on the machine and not user manuals because the manuals are combined manuals.

Might want to read Janknitz blog about full data machines and what to do when you realize that your machine is a "brick" which is what we call a machine that doesn't offer useful data.

I was not promised data, only that "this is a great machine for you". Had I found this forum prior to selecting a unit, I could have been more informed. I will certainly check to see if I can change. Thanks so much for your help.
