OT: The Super Bowl

Post by Slinky » Sun Feb 05, 2012 11:19 pm

Belichick and Brady gave the game away in the first few minutes of the first quarter!!!! From then on it was a pretty good game.

I had bet my husband: Patriots 3 TDs, 2 FGs; Giants 2 TDs, 3 FGs. Ah well.

It was nice to see Belichick walk over and actually hug Coughlin. My viewing was interrupted so I didn't see Brady and Manning.

It was a great game. I like voting for the underdog and underdog won this time

Did you watch Madonna's half time show? I didn't. I'm not a fan of hers or her music.

What was your favorite commercial?

Do you think the commercials are overall as good as they used to be in the earlier Super Bowls?

And, thankfully, that duo didn't ruin the National Anthem.

I am not a fan of Madonna, but that is the best half time show I have seen at a SuperBowl in years.

Great game.

No, that wasn't why the Giants won.

They took a page out of Giants-Buffalo (TOP 40:33) and did the same thing last night (TOP 37:05).

"Ya can't score if you ain't got the ball."

IOW, they Belichicked Belichick.

OTOH, dropping 8 in coverage (especially if one of them is JPP) wasn't the best idea against Brady and that O-line. Fortunately, they didn't use that a lot.

I didn't even watch the superbowl, never do. The only football I watch is college football anbd mostly just games with the University of Michigan since I'm a fan. I've always thought its hilarious that everyoner watches the superbowl to see the new commercials. Particularly since, if we have a dvr or Tivo, we fast forward through them the rest of the year or use the time as an excuse to get up and get something from the frig or go to the restroom, etc. But one Sunday a year, we watch football to see commercials. Me, I figure I'll see enough of them afterwards. I was hoping that the Patriots would win though since Tom Brady is a Michigan Alumnii.

I thought the commercials were the pits for the most part. Hugely disappointed. Some were just downright lame.

Not a huge fan of Madonna but I found the halftime show entertaining. Especially since the commercials weren't and seemed to be geared for audience much younger than me. Being a dog lover and an owner of a little dog who looks a lot like the Budweiser carrying dog...that one was pretty cute.

I was actually sort of rooting for the Giants. Missed the first quarter though.

Too many commercials for upcoming MOVIES and CARS. Quite a few apocalypic themes. I enjoyed the game way more than comnmercial. Didn't watch halftime show. The talking heads were all predicting Patriots would win after Ahman Bradshaw accidently scored a touchdown when he was supposed to fall down just before goal line. Didn't happen. Patriots screwed up the 57 seconds they had to score and the hail mary pass to the end zone wasn't caught. That last 57 seconds was what lost the game for the Patriots. I'm glad. I'm was hoping the Giants and Eli would win.

I liked the commercials that featured doggies!
The game was pretty good...at least I was still watching at the end.

I thought the dog bribe was disturbingly cute--Unfortunately, prophetic.
Our favorite, beautiful cat was killed by a dog today--in our own yard.

My husband went for a titration last night, and had the techs amused because he was watching the puppy bowl instead of the super bowl.....

Not a big football fan, but glad the Giants won, since I'm from N.Y. just transplanted here in VA. The commericals not too great,Nothing will ever be as good as the BUDwISer frogs) imho, though the million dollar winner is from Virgina Beach where I live now, Madonna, still good at 53. Most of all I enjoyed chasing after my year old Grandson who spent the evening with us.

Didn't watch the game, but I did see all the commercials at http://www.superbowl-commercials.org. Some were pretty good, a lot rather blah, and some downright bad.
