Well the first night went better than expected. Woke up a few times (that was a regular thing anyways) but was able to go right back to sleep.
My question is when I got up this morning I lost my voice for a few hours, is this normal until I get use to it?

We need to know what mask you were wearing.
If you were mouth-breathing (or mouth-leaking), you might need a full face mask or a chinstrap.

Re: Lost my voice after 1st night
I am wearing a ResMed Swift FX Nasal Pillows.
I don't think that I was breathing through my mouth (at least when I woke up I wasn't but who knows when I am sleeping).
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

As you can see, I have the same mask as you, but I HAVE to use extreme measures to keep my mouth closed in order to use this mask--my fave.
In nearly two years, I have only heard myself snore once; but hubby has recorded me on his cell--and says I'm very consistent--and LOUD!
Some people claim that it is easy to learn to keep their mouth shut--easy for them, I'm afraid.
I keep a couple of full face masks handy in case I don't feel like tape and Poli-grip is a good idea that night.

You will need to play with the humidity settings. Either you need more or less.
ASSUMING you are NOT mouth breathing that is.
