VVV......OMG

Post by portiemom » Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:52 am

VVV, OMG, I can't thank you enough for your post on my "Contrary" thread!!!!!! I did NOT take the Naproxen last night and wallah..... the FOG has lifted. Since 2006 I've been struggling with this awful foggy out of it feeling, I have been to so many Doctors to find help and none of them could help me. I can hardly believe that it's gone, what a simple fix, that's made such a huge impact on my life. Yes, it's only been 3 hours since I woke up, but for the first time in so long I can walk down my hallway without bumping in to the wall. Now when I stop crying with relief, I KNOW MY LIFE WILL BE BETTER!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

Where is my happy feet dance? Crossing fingers here that it was something so simple as a little pill.
More verification that feeling crappy doesn't always mean that OSA is to blame.

Hi I took Naproxen, it will make you spaced out the following day, its an anti inflammatory and muscle relaxant (so my doc tells me).

I titrated the dose to find the right amount that does the job, initially my doc just gave the max dose and I was comatosed all day Stopped the pain from frozen shoulder but got frozen brain instead lol.

Hey Pugsy, I've been dancing for the past few hours, now I need to go work and after all this dancing I still have some energy!!! Ahi still a bit high for me at 2.7 last night, leaks with the Bella Loops 10L so that is way higher for me, but I really think it's a hose problem for me, oh yeah the part that's not included in the Bella package really threw me for a loop (no pun intented), thank goodness a friend about 30 minutes from me had the piece, so a one hour trip to get it late last night did NOT make me happy. I knew it wasn't included in the loops attachment, but for it not to be included in the whole Swift Bella package, well that's nuts to me. Maybe it was pilfered along with the small pillows mine was missing, Ha wouldn't doubt it. But if it wasn't taken out, ResMed needs to suck up the cost and include it with the complete system to avoid patients left holding the mask~

The hose was missing from the package also? Gotta have it. Not needed if someone already had the Swift FX set up but sure needed if they didn't. Your DME needs to be aware of that little fact. While you can make do without the small size pillow...you can't make do without the short hose assembly.

I think she was given the whole setup as a freebie to try (at least that is what I understood it was) and the DME gave her a package that the ResMed Rep gave to them. Rep may not have thought about the missing hose (if they had given it to someone else) or DME may not have realized it was missing and/or DME may not have remembered that she didn't have the full Swift FX set up at home. Of course the ResMed Rep had no way to know that she didn't have the other stuff at home.

Hi guys, yes, I do believe my DME didn't know the short hose was missing or that the small pillow was gone....I'd like to err on the side of good. I don't feel the need to press the issue as a friend gave me her short hose as she doesn't use it and my DME has been good to get me the loops free. Sometime at a later date I will mention it to him as I would hate for any else to need the piece that was missing and would be missing it. Thanks for all your replies, and much needed help

Sorry, I have been away for some days and did not read your PMs until now. Very glad to hear about your improvement after the first night. How are you doing now? Has the improvement continued?

One thing I want to mention is your comment in another thread about this being an interaction between naproxen and gabapentin. In my case and in the case of my doctor's assistant we were taking naproxen alone when we discovered the very bad problem with sleep disturbance. It was only much later after I had ceased using naproxen when I started taking gabapentin.

So I do not believe that there is a drug interaction problem. It is just that naproxen by itself will disturb sleep.

I am continuing to use gabapentin (neurontin) with very good results.

Thanks VVV, I am still taking the gabapentin and have nixed the naproxen, the fog is lifting, that said, I am getting off of a myrid of prescription meds my MD had me on. In addition to the Gabapentin and Naproxen, she had me on tramadol, cymbalta, adderall and an occasional flexarill (sp). I was living in a complete fog and driving and going to work was hard thing for me. Now a Neuro Dr. has added Topromate and Imitrex for migrains after a mild concussion at work. I will not take them though, I must work and can't function with all these meds. Thanks again for your help with the Naproxen.

Some doctors are just disgusting IMO.

I think every line of work has its share of incompetents and quacks.

It was a big improvement when they stopped letting drug reps from giving endless goodies to doctors.
The staff at our PCP's office had hot food brought in every day compliments of the drug reps.
Can we say "Undue influence"?
It's no wonder so many folks were on DOZENS of meds.
