mask doesn't fit!

Post by ciounoi » Sat Jun 25, 2011 5:59 am

Hi there,

I have a full-face mask that has served me well for quite a while. About three weeks ago, I suddenly had issues with the fit. It led to a sore on my nose... which caused my nose to swell... which I am assuming made the fit even worse. In the past, I've had issues like this, and the fix has always been quite simple, but I'm having problems this time! I've tried adjusting the straps, adjusting the mask tilt, padding my nose with a Band-Aid, etc. Any more suggestions?

In addition to OSA, I also order up random food I don't like while I'm asleep.

Perhaps if you have been using it a LONG time you need a new face part or new head gear...they do stretch out after much use. Go to cpap.com and look up the ultra then click on "spare parts" you will see that you don't have to buy a whole new mask...just what is needed.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Nanwilson has a good point masks do soften and lose ability to seal, also have you had a weight change? pillow change, sweating more due to summer things do change. Hopefully you find the answer soon.

There is some value in having more than one style of mask that you can stand to sleep with. Or at least another mask of the same type.
