Almost five hours of sleep, only two wake ups, and NO apneas

Post by robysue » Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:49 am

I won't get cocky. It's only a small victory in a minor skirmish in a long-term war. And I didn't get to bed on time ...

BUT after waiting until 2:42 am to get sleepy enough to go to bed last night (skiing tends to key me up),

I slept for almost five solid hours!

Woke up only two times during the night. Both times I got back to sleep rather quickly without any serious comfort issues! And slept for a solid 2 1/2 hours from a bit after 5:00 AM to 7:30.

And was able to make myself get out of the bed when the alarm went off at 7:35 even though my hubby wanted to sleep late---and I let him sleep late!

And Encore Viewer shows no apneas and no hyponeas for the night. First AHI = 0.0 since getting the PR System One BiPAP. There was one RERA (REI = 0.2) and a VSI of 1.6 (so "eight snores" for the night). Since my VSI varies wildly from night to night, I won't complain.

And the leak line was where I like it to be. And the lips are feeling the skiing rather than the FX.

All in all, I feel a bit like Dorothy opening the door after her house has landed in Munchenland today ...

But I won't get cocky. After all: Much of this victory lies at the hands of the two day migraine headache finally going away ...

And this afternoon I'll take some AFS students sledding at Chestnut Ridge Park. It's a good thing to be able to enjoy winter again. At least on a few days.

My best sleeps ever were at a ski resort. I wonder if altitude and/or cold has some sort of impact.

I hope it continues to get better

Robysue, You ski bum...!

I can just see it now...

"But doctor, the only time I get a decent amount of sleep is after I have been skiing... I am sure my insurance will cover the cost of lift tickets if you write a prescription for them. Just tell them it is advanced therapy."

Congratulations on a small step toward victory.

Ah---if only it could work this way. LOL

And if I could ever persuade my hubby to retire where there's winter ....

Thanks to all for sharing this small, but significant victory with me.

And now for a return to our regular programing .....
