3.12 problem

Post by jlk » Fri Nov 12, 2010 7:26 am

On 11-11-10 I downloaded 3.12 on top of 3.11. I lost all my statistical data but still have my detailed. Before I downloaded, I exported it up to a flash drive, but the data opens in microsoft excel. Last nights data shows no stats either, anyone know how I botched this? Don't matter about old data as I am the only one needing the info, but liked flicking thru statistical data to get quick picture of my therapy. No matter what days are selected, the statistical data shows 11-11-10 data. Any ideas how to get new downloads to register new statistical data? john

Had the same problem. Unplugged the machine, made certain the card was installed, then plugged machine back in. After machine powered up and read card, removed card and dumped to ResScan. Overwrite duplicate data and got Summery data back, however detailed data is missing two to three days every week or so. The S9 is supposed to store 30 days of detailed data and 7 days of high speed data in addition to 365 days of summery data. Not certain if this is a problem with 3.12 or I didn't get the card installed correctly the last time.

Sleep Well

Long shot - did you have the card in the reader when you installed 3.12? That possibly had something to with it.

A recommendation for the future. Copy the raw data from the card to a folder, new one for each download, on your computer before you open up Resscan and download the data into it. That way you can always reload an SD card and redownload into Resscan.

Out of curiosity, what file opened up in Excel, and what did you see when it did?

Another thought. By any chance did 3.12 create a new patient folder and move only the detail files from 3.11 folder into it? Detail files are date+.rlk and the summary is summary.dat. That's what I've figured out anyway. If you have some sort of file recovery program see if you can find a deleted summary.dat file on your PC.

Another thing to try. Save all the data off your card as I say above. Also, make a copy of all the rlk files from your patient folder somewhere else, just in case. Then delete all the files off your card and put it back into the S9. The S9 should have all the summary data on it still and should now write a new summary file on the card with all the summary data. Whether it does it immediately, or only at noon, I don't know. You might have to wait until tomorrow morning to see a new summary file, but I don't think so. Then download that into Resscan choosing the option to overwrite existing sessions. If by chance the detail data is now not showing up copy the rlk files back into your patient folder. HTH.

Uninstall 3.11 completely before installing 3.12. Do not install the drivers unless you are using the proprietary ResMed card reader, etc. If you are using an SD card in a generic SD card reader, do not install the drivers.

Don't worry about the data. Uninstalling 3.11 does not affect it. Installing 3.12 does not affect it. It appears to be saved separately from the data files.

When I proceeded as described above, I had no problems and no data loss.

I have 3.11. What is the advantage of having 3.12?

12 > 11.

Other than that I haven't a clue.

In my case, it keeps some pixels from getting powered up. Looks like I got a few things to try, thanks all! john

Criminy sakes, that was easy! Thanks Steve, not sure if data missing a few days a week will be happening to me or not. I don't need it for compliance and don't see a rt, It's just for me to fine tune things. I have missed putting in the sd card once and didn't insert it once. I eject the card but not completely remove it after I wake up if I might talk to the wife for a long time to prevent centrals showing up on my data, talking with mask on does it, it messes up my ahi. I am so happy with my S-9, my worst ahi for the month so far has been 0.6, I think I got her dialed in to where I need! Now I need to be able to sleep more than 5 hours non-stop. Thanks all for the help! john

Cant figure out how to post it. Its just a graph with a-z horizontally and 1-71 vertically. Has the data listed in the columns, but not the format of resscan as I had expected. I will learn how to post attachments, etc, when I have more time. I hope my current data will transfer with a complete back-up when I switch over to my new laptop. Not supposed to play with the new laptop too much, Santa hasn't given it to me yet> john

Attachments have to be hosted on a publicly accessible server somewhere else and then a link to it is included in the post here on the board. This board does not host attachments to messages. If you mouse over, or right click, on attachments in some of the messages you'll see that links go to all sorts of web servers.
