Questions regarding Machines

Post by RedBird » Sun Nov 07, 2010 12:40 pm

I have been using BiPAP for over five years. My mother recently passed and I inherited her BiPAP machine and have been having issues getting my NEW equipment/care provider returning my calls for an appointment. I'm just going to walk in and get my equipment, but I'm trying to find the button combination that will allow me to set up the proper pressures on the new machine.

My current machine is:
Respironics BiPAP | Auto with BiFlex Model 1017439
Inspiration pressure 18mm
Expiration pressure 6mm

The new machine is:
Respironics BiPAP Plus Model 600M

While the old machine is far more robust, the 600M is smaller and lighter (and SO much noisier) and should be great for travel. While I know that these settings aren't supposed to be available to the patient to change, my sleep associate (PA) has given me carte blanche to modify my machines. If any one can help, let me know or PM me.

I think that this can be ignored. I found the following info in another post:
If you go to this site ( http://www.apneaboard.com/CPAP%20Adjustment.htm ), and scroll to the bottom of the page, you will find your machine listed. Because it is a large file, you will need to email the admin of the site and ask for the manual to be sent to you via email. This is a free service, but they will take a courtesy donation for providing this service.

Go to this site: http://www.apneaboard.com/CPAP%20Adjustment.htm and read through the page. It seems that the Respironics machines are hard to define for me....you should be able to identify the correct one to ask for the clinician's manual. They offer descriptions and pictures to help you get to the right model.
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.
