Poll Results - Ramp Settings Thread

Post by mars » Sat Aug 28, 2010 7:22 am

Hi All

I think the ramp setting poll has just about run it's course, so here are the basic results. There were 162 votes as at 28th August 2010.

75% of respondents do not use a ramp, and 25% do.

There was lots of information about the reason why members ended up either using or not using the ramp.

So here we go..................

52% of those who started with a ramp discontinued it's use.

And 25% still use the ramp.

23 % stated they had never used a ramp, but only Goofproof and thewetlizard posted about it. Bearded_Two said that the "cpap ramp is the work of the Devil", but didn't elaborate. It is possible that those who believe in the Devil of the 25% who still use a ramp would like a bit more information about this.

The 23% comprised of 36 votes, which means that we have no information about how come 34 respondents did not initially get put on a ramp.

So I guess we can come to the conclusion that if the ramp feature helps 25% of us on a continuing basis, then it is good that it is there.

Any conclusions that the 25% are in league with the Devil would an assumption, and I have given up making assumptions

With all these dual, and greater than dual, identities hanging around, the accuracy of polls to genuinely reflect the composition of the Forum on a particular subject is becoming less certain, but there is nothing we can do about that.

I thought the posts were really helpful, giving a range of useful experience about the ramp feature. One respondent, Maggie22561, even decided to try without the ramp after reading the other posts, and indicates that she has probably stopped using it.

I wish there was a way that this poll could be sent to all those connected with the initial setting up of the machine. They might learn something about how real users respond to the ramp before subjecting them to an experiment.

Finally, I want to thank all those who voted, and all those who posted, in this poll.

cheers
