New Graph on ResScan 3.10 / 3.11?

Post by frh » Wed Aug 04, 2010 6:21 pm

On July 24th, two days before my turbinate reduction surgery, I installed ResScan 3.11 on my laptop. After that I searched the forum for ResScan data file locations in Windows XP and Vista. Then I copied the entire directory from the desktop to a USB drive, then copied it to the proper directory on the laptop.

I took the laptop with me to the hospital. As soon as I got-up the next morning, I downloaded the data from the SD card to the laptop. A new category called "Flow" showed-up in my detailed data for every night starting July 25th.

My desktop computer still has ResScan 3.10 on it. The new "Flow" category also showed-up starting the night of July 27th.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this happening with 3.10 or 3.11?

Is it possible that you are now checking "include high-rate data" and you weren't before?

The flow data is high-rate data.

The first time the "Flow" chart showed up on my charts was July 14th.

Is other "high rate data" hiding in the machine? It's quite possible that I changed some settings. I didn't check as far back as when I had it set on APAP, but it sure seems like I have seen the graph before (just not recently).

The graph is giving me information about breathing patterns that I was not aware of. Because of it, I think episodes of shallow breathing are why the O2 I have been using at at night (since my turbinate reduction surgery last week) is making me feel so much better. (It feels like I discovered the magic bullet to staying alert during the day.) I plan to post some questions about what I think the graph is telling me when I get time to add screenshots to my album.

I support KC5cychris's theory. Flow graph is included w/APAP mode reports. Flow graph is NOT included w/CPAP mode reports.

I'm afraid I might blow your theory. I'm on CPAP and Flow Rate shows up on mine! I do, however, check that "high rate data" thingy.

I'm glad I didn't put any money on KC5cychris's and my theory!!!

First of all who knows exactly whats going on when you install Resmed and start messing around with files

With the high rate data checked you should get all of the following according to the documentation (no mention of APAP or CPAP so it must be for both?)

Detailed data at 30 nights includes events flow limitation, flow, leak, minute vent, pressure, pulse & snore

High resolution flow data 7 nights

Apart from the aperiodic events most of the other items are sampled at 1/2 Hz or 1 Hz

flow data however is sampled at 25 Hz resulting in significantly more data hence the 7 day limit.

So make sure you download to ResScan before very 7th night if you want all your flow data.

don't confuse flow with flow limitation two different issues

I have 3.11 and there is about 2 months of data in my computer, meaning there is probably all 30 days of data on my card. Prior to reading this thread on Aug 8 I have always checked "All Available Data" for my downloads. For awhile, maybe always, I've had a graph called "Flow Limitation." But I have missed the "High Rate Data" check mark when downloading. So this time I did check it--but no new "Flow Graph" showing. So I went back and re-downloaded this time specifying the last 7 days as the time period. Still no Flow Graph showing. Each time I download I do select the "Discard" option rather than "Overwrite."

To get the Flow Graph do I need to enable something else in 3.11?

Or do I need to select 7 days and select "Overwrite" (I have been hesitant to do this as I don't want to lose my past data)?

Or do I need to wait until I get tonight's new data before it will show up?

Or....???
