Last week someone told me about using a liner underneath the chin area of my mask to help prevent skin chapping caused by being in contact with the silicone. I contacted REMzzz and they said they did not yet make a liner for the Mirage Liberty ff mask. After reading other posts here, I decided to trace the outline of the lower lip of my mask (in a wide "U" shape) onto an old undershirt of my husband's. I cut it out making sure it was wide enough to hang below the mask. It's soft and comfy and seems to make the mask feel more secure on my face. I've only used the insert five nights but I'm finding that not only has it cured the chapped skin problem, but my mask pillows are suddenly sealing properly and they stay in place for the night! I think it might be because the cloth insert is preventing my mask from sliding down on my chin (as the humidity inside the mask made my skin moist and slippery) which thereby caused the pillows to slip out of my nostrils 30 times a night. I hope I'm right in this discovery. (and I'm sure it's been discovered many times already on this board) I'm so excited that this may have solved a chronic problem I've had with my mask...nasal pillows popping out all night long.
Has anyone else noticed the same?
liner prevents Liberty mask pillows from popping out?

Re: liner prevents Liberty mask from sliding down?
I never tried a liner with the liberty but I have with other masks.
Right now the ones I am using are made from old flannel pj pants - I made a pattern and cut about 20 one night - use them until they are too nasty looking then trash them - the price is right. I have used t shirts too - started with them long ago as well as old cotton panties.
I am even known to use the elastic from old panties for headgear but that won't work with the liberty (though I made my own headgear for it and used one piece from old underwear and a one yard piece of other).

Re: liner prevents Liberty mask from sliding down?
Thanks for the ideas, Jules. I should have used a different subject line because my point was my nasal pillows sealed nicely/stopped popping out on the same night I started using the mouth/chin liner. (I changed nothing else, including the pillows) Moisture accumulating during the night which previously allowed the mask to slide down on my chin (and subsequently the pillows would slide down/pop out) is absorbed by the liner and the liner acts as a brake for keeping the mask in place on my chin.jules wrote:I never tried a liner with the liberty but I have with other masks.
