If the blower was really spinning backwards, the machine was hopelessly confused. If the blower was spinning backwards, you may have been lucky in not daamaging the motor driver circuit from the back EMF this would create. ....
I have since been using the ResMed in a reasonably "normal" manner, and there is fortunately no evidence of damage.

The worry is one machine might try to blow the other one's insides out .... it would be really sad to learn that any one brand was actually a predator, but I am worried that your experiment has shown this to be the case. This is scary. I am not sure I can trust keeping one of each brand in the same room anymore ?
I have locked the Respironics away under heavy guard. Still the same room, but they can't see each other.

Of course, you'd have to calibrate the system by doing several weeks to see how long a period of time is needed to get fairly consistent results over the specified time period.

I wouldn't worry about that! If Respironics is anything like me she has eyes in back of her head! Ask my kids!
