Taking control of my families sleep Apnea - Stardust II

Post by thegivingway » Fri Nov 20, 2009 6:46 am

I purchased a Stardust II sleep recorder to help take control of my families sleep apnea. All of the members of my immediate and seemingly my extended family have sleep apnea. Many are non-compliant to the treatment, including myself. Our experience with sleep labs, sleep techs, and the sleep doctors has left us feeling lost and bewildered. No one has explained our results, the significance of the before and after results, or the possible importance of staying with therapy for an extended time period to see the results.

Due to these reasons I felt the need to take charge of this issue and figure now first hand what is going on. I have just begun to learn the different terminology and am going to start reviewing the studies we have had and learn how to read the results. I could use some help in this area. I bought a Stardust II sleep recorder and have done 3 studies thus far. The latest was last night on my nephew who has down syndrome.

Does anyone have experience with the Stardust from a patient's or clinical perspective? I am interested in some feedback on the quality and accuracy of the results. Thank you for your help - this forum is excellent.

Can you post a copy of a report onto the forum here?

Just curious........where were you able to acquire one of these systems, and where do you get the disposables for it????? Dit it come with the necessary software to download the data from the recorder?????

It came with a number of the air flow disposables for the nose and so far I have used the same one for the first three uses. Everything else can be used again and again. I happen to come across this for sale out of the US and jumped on the chance to buy it - despite the high cost. If we can use this to get our sleep apnea under control, I feel it is worth any price. The study's have been awesome to watch in real time on the PC. How do I post a copy of the report?

Hi, if you can cut and paste from the graph you scan into your computer, then do in a new post in this thread.
