Three Weeks In & I Am Making Progress!

Post by millich » Wed Aug 19, 2009 6:54 pm

Hi Everybody,

Thank you all - SO MUCH - for all the encouragement you've offered me and for letting me whine when I've needed to.

Tomorrow will make 3 weeks that I've been on CPAP therapy and I am seeing improvement. I am so happy! Here's what I'm seeing at this point:
- - a definite increase in my energy level
- - a clearer head when I wake up
- - an improvement in my overall mood
- - the ability to function on 8 hours sleep (I told my husband going in that this was my goal. Prior to CPAP, I had to have at least 9 hours to be able to function at all and 10 hours to be able to function decently).
- - the ability to recover from a bad night's sleep with just one night of good sleep. In the past, I've always needed two good night's sleep to recover from one bad night. Too bad CPAP doesn't also cure insomnia, right?
- - my husband thinks he sees a little improvement in my concentration/mentation. I'm not convinced of that yet, but am hopeful it will happen soon.

Thanks again for everything. I feel truly blessed to have found you guys!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Isn't it nice to see a difference that quickly? I noticed a difference right away. Still improving slowly. Your memory will probably get better down the road. I'm six months in and my wife definitely notices a difference in my memory, humor, etc. I can even function on 5-6 hours of sleep if I have to, something unheard of before.
Sleep well and live better!

Millich, it makes me happy to see posts like yours. I can remember writing my first good progress report on my husband and receiving so many good wishes. The support here is what keeps us all going. Great news, keep it up. Dori

I just picked up my bipap yesterday and slept with it the first time last night. Like you, I am determined to have a positive attitude about this whole thing. I really need to read posts like yours to encourage me. Hopefully in 3 weeks I can post the same things!
