FullLife mask?
FullLife mask?
The other thread is getting long, so: Has anyone actually tried the new FullLife mask? There seems to be lots of interest! I wish cpap.com could offer more views of it -- I don't understand how the tilt from top to bottom is adjusted, which seems it would be a big thing. And I couldn't even find it on the Respironics web site!
Anyway, Many of us would love to hear first-hand reports. Thanks!

I believe one of the members, "hikewv"? mentioned in the other thread that they were going for a fitting today, lets hope they post with an update/review.

Re: FullLife mask?
Well, i went to my DEM today, and of course they had the wrong mask, they thought i asked for the fitlife mask. They hadn't heard of this new mask (doesn't surprise me since it's new) So I tell them and show them the one on cpap.com, they called their Respironics rep and he was like "How did you find out about this mask?" Its not even out yet, etc.." From what I gather it will be at least another couple of weeks before my DME will be even able to get it. What I find odd if they are "not" suppose to be out yet, how does cpap.com have 10 in inventory?
So I had a fun morning. /grr

Re: FullLife mask?
I am also one of the folks anxious to try this mask or hear someone's acutal experiences with it. I asked my DME again today about it and thier Respironics rep said that "they have no specific date of when the mask will be available for distribution." Which I find VERY interesting since our lovely hosts are already showing some in stock.
*sigh* Between this and them speaking of a "compliance report" when I ask for my "full data report" I am a bit worried about my DME for the first time. I knew it was too good to be true.
edited after the preview to add: I see hikewv had a similar experience. I had to emphasize w/ mine when I asked for it because they also thought I was asking for the FitLife.

Re: FullLife mask?
The DMEs will probably be slow in stocking these new masks because the profit margin may be smaller, they're already overstocked on other masks, or some other hokus-pokus. We brought in the card after the first month to have them read it just to get entered into their system. They commented that "somehow you've managed to change all the settings and we'll be sending a report to your Dr." When I asked for details(which I already knew from Encore), she said hubby was 100% compliant". Period. Don't know if she even knew how to read the card or could interpret it. She's an RN/RT. When we went to see the "Sleep Specialist" for first time and brought a week's reports, he seemed mesmerized and spent the whole visit studying them. We had changed the original titration RX of cpap=13cm to auto = 11-15cms based on suggestions from the pros here but still were having newbie problems. He said without a thought to change to "5-18cms". When I asked why, he said "that's why you have an auto machine, so it will find the best pressure for you". He also was very "interested" in how I managed to find out how to change settings and although I didn't name names I did direct him to the Internet. He was clueless about so many things on the report and actually asked me questions. Then he gave me a "thumbs up", patted my husband on the back and told us to make an appointment in 3months and left. Gee, somehow we forgot to make that followup appt At least our Primary Dr admits he knows very little about OSA treatment although he did diagnose hubby's symptoms and sent him for the study. And he's very respectful of how well I'm managing my husband's therapy but would like me to back off a little to reduce my stress level, which I have done finally after almost a year now that my husband can finally adjust his own mask during the night if necessary, and fills the HH and cleans the mask in the AM etc.. He still cannot get the hang of putting the mask on(the clips) and making initial adjustments but he can detach the clips and take off the mask in the AM. He's not a youngster and is somewhat disabled so I'm happy with his progress and call him "my hero" for accepting this diagnosis and treatment without a whimper. I also could never have done this without the help of all my "heroes" on this forum. Forgive me for getting OT, it seems to help to review the past and realize how far we've come. Thanks, Dori

Re: FullLife mask?
I'm proud of the progress you and your husband have made over all this time and you have been a big help to me over time also. My first sleep doctor had me set at 4-17 and also interrogated me about my machine changes, software, and how I learned everything I learned. I'm not sure he even knew how to get off the summary data page of the application when he looked at my data on the computer. He only cared about compliance for insurance reasons and my insurance company doesn't require that info...there was no need for me to ever have seen him for all the good it did me.DoriC wrote:The DMEs will probably be slow in stocking these new masks because the profit margin may be smaller, they're already overstocked on other masks, or some other hokus-pokus. Re: FullLife mask?
My DME is willing to special order it for me. I am having them do that on Monday.DoriC wrote:The DMEs will probably be slow in stocking these new masks because the profit margin may be smaller, they're already overstocked on other masks, or some other hokus-pokus. Re: FullLife mask?
Mine is too, but supposedly their rep is saying it isn't available to be special ordered yet.socalmonkey wrote: My DME is willing to special order it for me. I am having them do that on Monday.
Make sure they understand you really mean the FullLife. I had to specifically say to mine that I did not want the FitLife/Total face mask.
Re: FullLife mask?
I'll be waiting for your reports. I'm very curious because it might be the answer for allowing my husband to put on his mask himself since there are no clips involved. But I would really hesitate to make a mask change as the UltraMirageFF is doing a good job for him and we've gotten "attached" to it.

Re: FullLife mask?
Hey as I mentioned in the other thread, I wouldnt 'hold my breath' on the mask.....I suspect many of you have the fullfit on its way! Even the Rep cant the extras for the sleep lab, which is kind of silly....how are we supposed to get people all 'hooked on their dope' and such? Anyway, besides the predator-like look of the head straps the mask is actually really comfortable and the field of vision is awesome! I cant wait to use it on my first patient!
