UPDATE: Respironics FullLife Mask - Release on July 20

Post by socalmonkey » Sun Jul 19, 2009 11:10 pm

A new Respironics mask - called FullLife is a full face mask is scheduled to be released by Philips Respironics on Monday, July 20. It's said to be compact, comfortable, and quiet and It will be available in three sizes - S, M, L.

The FullLife offers several benefits over previous models, including:

Lightweight, durable design
Integrated exhalation vents for quiet operation
No forehead support for clear line of sight
Advanced cushion design for excellent fit

The design looks rather interesting:

The fact that it has no forehead support for clear line of sight, looks really cool. I looked at Respironics site, and they don't even have it listed yet. It's suppose to be released tomorrow.

I would love to try one of these out.

I saw one last week. It is a true full face mask as it seals to the forehead and your eyes are inside the mask. The Respironics rep said it was intended for people who have a hard time finding a mask that fits.

That is not the mask I am talking about. The eyes on NOT inside the mask. This is totally new.

Now see picture above.

EDIT Update: I figured out how to post the picture. So I removed the competitors site link. I don't know if thats allowed or not. But it didn't seem polite to our hosts.

That's ok. I know all the names are confusing. Now I figured out how to put the picture in the original post.

What I like is that the vents are part of the mask itself, not the elbow assembly, which means you can sleep on your tummy and not be blocking the vents (a big problem for me, greatly limiting my mask choices).

It doesn't look like the hose can rotate ?

I would love to try one!! I like the way it doesn't have the forehead brace!! Of course it will be a bummer if the hose doesn't swivel at all!!

It looks to me like the hose swivels at the circle in the center of the mask.

I'm purchasing a new mask in the coming weeks so I emailed Respironics to get the scoop on the mask. I''ll post any info I receive from them.

My current mask works pretty good but I like the looks of this one and I'm always willing to try something new to see if it works better.

More info:

A revolutionary design makes FullLife a great choice for men and women who need a full-face mask but prefer something more compact with a clear line of sight.

Respironics took a minimalist approach in developing FullLife. They made it smaller and lighter, yet ensured that it is durable. The conventional forehead pad was eliminated to provide a clear line of sight in the process.

In developing the FullLife Respironics reduced leaks with a dual-textured, grooved cushion that creates a robust seal even with patient movement. The straightforward, step-by-step numbered headgear system reduces application and removal effort while improving fit. With less noise, FullLife is more comfortable to live with. And one faceplate fits all sizes which makes it especially convenient if you decide you need to change cushion sizes.

The picture looks like it cups your chin ... which would help to prevent riding up and getting on your eyes.
I use the Quattro and would love to try this one.
