Vote Poll for Swift LT or Swift II
Vote Poll for Swift LT or Swift II
I see that on CPAP.COM the Swift LT is Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 249 customers
and the Swift II is Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 575 customers.
I am curious what the forum users have to say.
Please only vote if you actually use one or the other of these two masks.
I want to keep others masks out of this poll.
Thanks!

Re: Vote Poll for Swift LT or Swift II
I've used both, and I definitely prefer the LT.
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Absolutely LOVE my Swift LT. Once on and adjusted - hardly even know it is there!

Same here, I love my LT.
The time has come and lit, I am too tired to work yet too poor to quit...
Re: Vote Poll for Swift LT or Swift II
I have the Swift LT as my preferred choice at the moment. I think the headgear straps could be improved as they move around on the back of my head during the night. Luckily my papcap takes care of that problem now.

Re: Vote Poll for Swift LT or Swift II
I have used both the Swift II and the LT, and have to say that I don't really like either
Heresy!
Here are my issues with each. The Swift 2 is nice and light and very comfortable, but tends to develop leaks out of the side caps and whenever the front Slides over. I have used Teflon tape and still get leaks which tend to blow into my eyes leaving me dry and painful by the morning. I also find the mask moves around and I have to readjust it many times a night unless I crank it down very tight in which case it's uncomfortable.
The LT I thought would be great, but I find it makes way too much noise, and also seems to leak and require constant readjustment. Again if I make it tighter, it works better but I wake up with a very sore nose.
I ended up going back to my Optilife Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask which due to its chin strap and plastic frame seems to stay put on my nose without a lot of drama.
I'd be open to any suggestions to improve the experience of either of the Swift masks, as I would love to get some use out of them. But I can't really recommend either. The OPTi life is simple and easy-to-use, I just wish it was a tiny bit more comfortable. I might try the optional cradle cushion at some point.

Started with the Swift, it was ok to start with, changed to the Activa Nasal mask and used it until Jan. when I tried the LT and instantly went back to using the pillows.

The Swift 2 has been around for a much longer time, I thinkDennisla wrote:I see that on CPAP.COM the Swift LT is Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 249 customers

Perhaps to make it a better A/B comparison, you need to do a survey of people who have used both only?[Please only vote if you actually use one or the other of these two masks.

Re: Vote Poll for Swift LT or Swift II
I've used both ... well I used the original Swift which is pretty much just like the Swift II.
If you only sleep on your back (bad for OSA) then there is not much difference. However if you sleep on your tummy or side, the Swift LT wins by a large margin as shown on your poll.

Re: Vote Poll for Swift LT or Swift II
I have been using the Swift LT for close to a year now. And I actually have two complete extra unopened LT masks.
The intent of my poll was to find out if it was worth asking to trade an LT for a II version.
But from the looks of things here I am better off staying with my LT's .
Interesting results though.
Thanks for all the replies!

Re: Vote Poll for Swift LT or Swift II
You may want to consdier trying the most current version of the Opus (up to third version now I think) ... it is most similar to Swift LT and may have the potential to fit one person better than the other.Dennisla wrote:I have been using the Swift LT for close to a year now. Dreamstalker - Is there a reason you don't list your equipment? I think someone asked you this before but I wonder as well.

Uhhhhh ... reason? Hmmm, not really.Hawthorne wrote:Dreamstalker - Is there a reason you don't list your equipment? I think someone asked you this before but I wonder as well.
Since my therapy has been pretty well optimized for over 2 years now (many thanks to the fine members of this great forum ... Thanks you very much!!), I don't have a need for me to list my equipement.
But, I have no shame in my equipment either ...
M series AFLEX machine (set 10 cm min and 12 cm max consistantly gives me weekly average of 0.3 AHI as does CPAP mode at 11 cm).
Remstar Auto "Classic" machine for backup unit.
Encore Pro 1.8 (rarely use it anymore and only download data for record keeping and not so much for analysis).
ResMEd Swift LT (although I have done well with Opus and Breeze masks too, but LT still tops them for me).
F&P HC 150 heated humidifier.
homemade microfiber fleece hose cover.
homemade portable keychain hose hanging system.
Grossan nasal irrigating system (use it once or twice a week unless I feel something coming on and then I use it twice daily)
Used to have ResMed Autoset and AEIOmed Everest machines but sold them a couple of years ago.
Also have the SP7500 oximeter (but rarely ever use it anymore).
Also have Bret's initial prototype PurSleep inline aromatherapy system (but rarely use it).
I seemed to do a bit better with the respironics auto algorithm ... but I'm just weird that way.
