Need help with Encore Pro 1.8 and Smartcard Reader

Post by remstarcpap » Thu Apr 30, 2009 1:51 pm

My main computer died, so I had to reinstall Encore Pro 1.8 to my Lenovo X61 laptop running Win XP sp2. Much teeth gnashing ensued...

First I had to turn off my firewall in order for it to install. Both the program and the SQL server installed apparently okay, but I still can't run. Here are the current problems.

1. The SQL server says Not connected, and when I right click the Icon it shows no server or services in the pulldown menus, so I can't tell it to connect.

2. The smartcard reader (infineer Mako DT3500 doesn't show up in Explorer, and when I put a card into it, the indicator light turns red, not green.

3. Encore pro launches fine, but can't find the smartcard reader.

I installed the smartcard drivers several times, and they seemed to install fine.

I'm puzzled. Can anyone point me to an install guide for this version of Encore Pro (1.. Or tell me how to fix my current install. Thanks.

I have the Lenovo X61 with Vista and EncorePro 1.8.49.

When you startup EncorePro, make sure it is pointing to the right database (in Preferences/Database server).

I copied the Smartcard drivers to my C: drive and then refreshed the driver from there so it now "remembers" where to find it. Let me know if you don't know how to do that.

Hope that helps!
Mindy
