Itchy flaky skin

Post by Juliebove » Fri Apr 24, 2009 3:15 pm

Does anyone else have a problem with this where their mask touches? This is kind of weird. I have it mostly in my forehead where the plastic or silicon or whatever it's made of piece touches my forehead. I have just a slight amount around my nose, but that's not itchy. The only other place I have itchy skin is on my stomach where I inject my insulin.

i know I could put a cream or lotion on my skin but I hate to do this on my forehead because I wear bangs and don't want greasy stuff in my hair.

I suggest a trip to the dermatologist. You probably could find something on the market that will mask the problem but not cure it.

Julie,

Have you tried placing a piece of fleece padding or maybe moleskin under the forehead piece? Karen at Padacheek http://www.padacheek.com/ may carry a pad for your mask. If not, she can design one.

Sounds like you have a bit of contact dermatitis going on at that spot. HTH.

I do have dermatitis, psoriasis and some other skin problems. It doesn't look like that, but it could be. I guess I can try the ointment I have for that.

I have that problem where ever the mask touches my face. Padacheeks from Karen solved the problem for me. A thin coat of milk of magnesia may also help.

On the skin? Isn't that drying? I used to use it for acne.

I had that same problem where the silicone forehead pad rested on my forehead. Lotions and creams didn't seem to help, but what cleared it up altogether was ordering a fleece pad for the forehead bridge from Pad A Cheek. I don't know if it was the silicone per se (trapping oil and moisture), or what exactly caused the problem, but with the fleece pad, it cleared up in only a few days' time.
