Newbie saying Howdy

Hello my name is Mike and I'm a hosehead

Been lurking for awhile and getting some valuable info--Thanks to all of you other hoseheads, hope to help when I can.

I've been on my "Buddy" CPAP for about 4 months, was diagnosed with mild APNEA in December 08. Average ahi 8, hit rem once at sleep study with ahi 18. I was a snorer only and my DW had custom ear plugs made. She no longer needs them.

I'm am one that has decided to take my therapy into my own hands. Original pressure was 8cm, three weeks ago i changed it to 9cm, started to feel just a little better, last night i changed it to 9.5cm and let me tell ya, I really feel great today. Don't worry, i'm not going to change it again tonite, i'll leave it where it's at for awhile.

Welcome! Here are some tips to help in the transition from lurker to day walker:

1. Fill out your equipment profile. It helps everyone know what machine we're talking, which is good if you are trouble shooting or giving product feedback.

2. Use software! Changing that pressure without an AHI/Leek feedback loop is like driving a car with your feet. Yes, you can do it, but that doesn't make it a safe idea. (Also, brace yourself for software/data/empowerment debates).

I forgot to press the submit button after filling out my equipment list.

I do monitor my AHI/leak everyday, thats why i'm tweeking, and thanks for your thoughts

Don't do to much debating, I like to sit on the fence most of the time.

Well Bushy Hollow Bill, I prefer S&W 9mm with no CT laser and the S&W .38 spl airweight with CT laser.

I had to laugh when I read about your DW's custom earplugs and her no longer needing them. When I first went on the hose, I was worried that my machine might wake my DH who is somewhat of a light sleeper. After a couple of nights, I asked him if the machine noise bothered him. He said, "Well, dear, I hardly notice it and it is SOOOOO much quieter than your snoring was!"

This is a great informational forum and I shudder to think of where I'd be with xPAP if I hadn't of found it and learned from it.

Hi, Mikee.

Just a quick note: You say you're able to check your AHI data, but the machine you have listed in your profile doesn't offer data. (I know, because I have the machine you listed, and it's just compliance data.)

Anyway, welcome aboard.
