Leak Fix

Post by Portageegal » Thu Apr 23, 2009 7:52 am

The other day I was trimming innersoles to put in my shoes and was left with a V shaped piece from the toe of the innersole. "Hmmmm... If I turn that upside down I bet that will fit in the top area of my Quattro FFM", I thought. A little more trimming and I placed it between the two layers of silicone and Eureka !!! Three nights with no leaky mask and no hard plastic digging into my nose. I am going to buy a set and make a cushion for the mouth area. I sometimes have leaks around the corners of my bottom lipand hope it will help that, too.
The innersole is rubber so it stays put and it thin enough that it isn't lumpy, but fills in that thin spot at the bridge of the nose nicely. The generic brands are cheap, too.

I was looking at all the Dr Scholls stuff the otherday and thinking some of the products might be used for something having to do with our affliction. Good Idea on your part.

Karen of this forum also makes a variety of pads, you might check her website:

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Good idea! I'll be checking out the Dr. Scholl's display next time I go to the store. Incidentally, I have the nose bridge pad from Pad A Cheek, and it's VERY nice and comfy! It's just not quite enough to fill in the leaky gap for me, though.

Just be sure you use new ones. It would make for a bad night if you had to smell used innersoles all night

If I used my old ones it would put me out faster than chloroform.
