I am looking for an inexpensive recording oximeter.
Why?
Lately I have my therapy working to where I get no apneas at all very often, but I still have a lot of hypopneas. I can't quantify scientifically that they are obstructive and not central, but if I use snores ,any apneas that DO happen (and we know my apnea is obstructive), my known physical issues, things seem to fall into place suggesting strongly that my hypopneas are obstructive.
So then my curiousity kicks in. If I have AI = 0 but HI = 8 and I can see hypops all through the night on my graphs, what's that doing to my SpO2 levels? Does the density of hypops mean I am desatting to a degree that I should be concerned?
Hence my quest to find an inexpensive oximeter.
I recently read a post pointing to this one:
http://www.semedicalsupply.com/cms-50e.htm
for about $140 US
Do you have one? Care to share model information and how satisfied you are with it? How often you use it?
I'd like to get info on oximeters that record such that I can cross reference the TIME on the oximeter report to the Intellipap report.
(Eventually it would be awesome to get an oximeter to just plug into the oximeter port on the Intellipap, but apparently that feature is not yet mature)
So... care to share what you have?
Just oximeters please

Re: Just oximeters please
I have the CMS -50E, the one on the link you gave. I have had it about 4 or 5months and really like it.
I can look at my Encore Viewer reports and the reports from the oximeter and see if there were any desaturations when my Encore Viewer report shows an event. I an also check it with my leak rate and see if there is any corelation there.
I use it about once a month. The manual is a little tricky to understand but it is really quite easy to use.
If you buy it, when you set the time for the night, don't set the number of hours you want it to record like I tried to do. You set the time at which you want it to start. If I am settling into bed at 11pm, I set it for 11:20 pm so that I can get settled and asleep before it starts recording.

Re: Just oximeters please
i have the same model too and i am very pleased with it, it was very good value for money. the written instructions were poor english but to be honest the gadget was so easy to figure out that it did not matter, the software was easy to work out too, one program was for reivewing recored data while the other was designed as an onscreen monitor for live use, i guess that would be more of a clinical setting
