Card reader and software

Post by Brushy Hollow Bill » Tue Apr 21, 2009 6:22 am

My friends at my rental place have blocked off things they don't want me to see so my question is, if I buy the reader and the software will I be able to see the figures that might actually help me help myself with my problem. What an odd thought, "letting the patient get to see his or her own status report".

Will the machine/software just pull up the info or will I have to know the secret code or something.

The card records everything and I don't think it cares what they've locked you out of. The lockout just affects the things you are able to do from the buttons on the machine itself. If the key sequence is the same as it was for the older tank style Remstar, someone on here should be able to PM you that info. (I'm at work... no machine here).

With the Encore Viewer software, you can look but not touch. Now if you can get hold of Encore PRO, then you can change settings in the software and when you reinsert the card, the machine accepts those changes. .....'course if you unlock the buttons, you can make your changes right on the machine and just use the Encore Viewer to see the results.

I just retired my remstar tank to backup status. I'll probably never use the card reader and software again. Give me a day or so to mull it over and I might be willing to part with it. hmmmmm.... that means I have to find it. (Currently split between 2 houses. Not sure if it's at house 1 or house 2)

With Encore Viewer you can get the data but you can get into the Setup Menu with the "Clinician's Setup Guide" and set it up so some data will show on the LCD screen.

It is 2 pages. If you want it, PM me your email address and I'll send it to you as an attachment.

With Encore Viewer and the Clinician's Setup Guide, you can look at your data and see what is actually happening in your sleep and make some changes in your machine settings that might help to keep the events to a minimum and tell you if your mask is leaking badly so you can try some fixes to the mask.

Withe Clinician's guide, you can get into the settings and set your machine up to show your leak rate and AHI on the LCD screen under the flip up door on top of your machine. That can be done without the software. The software gives much more detailed data though.

As I recall, you have the Remstar M Series Auto with A-Flex. PM me your email address if you want the Clinician's Guide.
