Couldn't sleep in Hotel

Post by Trinity101 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 11:34 pm

Well... I got to go to MA to see my friends ... and my DME DID next-day my new Quattro up to the hotel so I could have some sleep...and I got my machine there on the train safely. Great, you say-but THEN I realized what everyone was saying when they were talking about not being able to sleep when their husbands were away. I was afraid to go to sleep with my CPAP on because - what if someone broke through the dead-bolt AND the flip-thingy on the lock AND.....(and I NEVER think about this possibility any other time)??? I knew that I would hear the fire alarm -it is really loud! So, fortunately they were having a CSI:Miami marathon on, and I just left the TV on as protection of a sort-and went to sleep promptly, CPAP blowing away...The second night, I did not give myself a chance to get started down that train of thought-just turned on the same channel and went to bed-successfully. David Caruso and crew as adjuncts to CPAP??? hmmmm

I know why you're here... I know what you've been doing... why you hardly sleep,.. and why night after night, you sit by your computer... It's the question that drives us... It's the question that brought you here. The Matrix,1999

My daughter spent the night at my parent's house the other night and then my husband decided since she wasn't home he was going to stay out all night.

I do have my own room (or it's supposed to be) because prior to getting the machine, I was still doctoring up the bed with all sorts of pillows for my GERD, Fibromyalgia and Venous Insufficiency. It is just too hard to have another person in the bed with all that stuff. But then daughter wouldn't sleep in her own bed because it was too close to her dad's room and he was keeping her awake at night.

We have an extra bed and it's in my room, so that's where she sleeps.

It was just too weird being home alone with the cat. I am not used to that at all. I slept, but it took me a while to get to sleep.

Now a strange bed? Forget it. I can't sleep in them. I do better sleeping on the floor than in a strange bed.

Hey, it ain't just being alone. Me and my BH also worry. When out at a hotel I always place a chair up against the door as a stop along with all the locks and door catches. You can purchase a door alarm that hangs on the door and will go off if disturbed.

In this day & age we all have to be cautious. We had a young women raped and murdered in our area last year. Her attacker was a hotel employee who had a master door key afterhours.

Before you check in ask who and how these keys are protected. All should be turned in at end of shift and kept under lock.

Sorry for the added worry but I care. This information needs to get out.

Wouldn't work for me... I would suffocate.

When CSI:Miami is on I have to hold my nose.

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...
