Is Cflex hard on the machine?

Post by N6CRV » Thu Apr 16, 2009 8:14 am

Hello, I could not find anything on this. Is it harder on the machine when using the Cflex. What I mean is that the motor seems to have to keep going up and down in speed. Would it be better if it was able to just stay at one speed (Cflex off) ?
Thanks
Don

It will wear sooner but still the machine should last a very long time. Regardless of the setting selected, I expect my machine will outlast me and I can't take it with me.

My advice, use the setting that is less wear on you.

Don, the machine is designed to do that. And it's also designed to have an expected life of about 5 years. It's not going to last you forever.

This is hard to hear when we pay so much for them, but think about your car - it doesn't last forever either. However, you can replace parts on your car, and for the most part, this machine isn't designed to be repaired.

Use the setting you get the best benefit from.

Off topic - my ex-Boyfriend is a "Don" and a Ham radio fiend. Is that a Ham call sign I see there? BTW, he's the one that nagged me to get a sleep study. Of course, it took me two years after he moved out before I did it. I still think the world of KC7TDG. He's one of the Good Guys on this planet.

LOL,

I don't see any reason why varying the motor speed would increase wear. If anything, it should decrease wear slightly since it is running at a slower speed part of the time.

Hello, thanks for the reply's. I will just run it where I feel the best.

Babette, yes the N6CRV is my Ham call. The 6 is a California number but we moved to Mi in 1980 and I just kept the call. Was not sure if we were going to like Mi.
