I think me and my pap buddy were at odds last night LOL!

Post by FatiguedMe » Wed Apr 08, 2009 7:57 am

I do NOT remember a thing happening, but I woke up at 4:15 am with hose around my neck (ACKKK) and Face mask finally broke seal and was blowing me away. Hubby said "Thank God you don't have a longer hose then!" I was thinking of ordering longer hose, but now NO WAY!
I tried my Comfortfull gel mask in med, I am assuming this is what caused all of my upset because I changed back to the large and chinstraped up and fell back asleep till morning alarm!
Sooooo is anyone else having downout battles with your equipment? ROFL!! (that face is for my equipment not me) LOL
Hope someone gets a laugh out of this!

sounds like the beginning of a story line for a new horror movie, the demon possessed cpap machine/hose that rebels against its kind and faithful owner by trying strangulation! beware of that hose, it sounds evil!!

Tagline for "CPAP the Movie"

Your struggle to breathe has only just started.

There are a lot of low cost, do-it-yourself, hose management systems that users on here have made and are really great! There are also some commercial ones. I ended up buying the Hozer management system (http://levitationsystems.com/levcms/) which really helps me sleep better without the hose entangling itself here. Hopefully, rested gal (or others) has a link to the hose management systems that they can post on this thread.

Good luck!
Sleep well and live better!

Include that it talks, e.g. Stanta's post "Am I going nuts" and you'll probably be nominated for an Oscar or is it an Emmy?

I originally got the HoseBuddy from cpap.com, and later got a HoZer from cpap.com.

The HoZer works better...though I was having trouble where it was hitting the wall as I moved around at night (the mask will also sometimes hit the wall, but the HoZer hitting the wall was more frequent and annoying). Though removing one segment seems to have helped with this problem.

Now the only problem is the swivel on the CL2, doesn't swivel enough...tends to just stay stuck to one side or the other....

Like Kenny, I also use the HoZer Levitation System. I kept dreaming about hunting and wrassling snakes. So I ordered the HoZer and no more "snakey" dreams. Although my husband says that with the hose now hanging over my head, it looks as if some alien is sucking my brain. I think he's been reading too many sci-fi books.

There are a lot of hose management systems out there. I chose this one because it seemed more portable. I have traveled with it and it packs easily. LISA

With xPAP therapy, do or do not; there is no try.

I started CPAP with the Hozer, and can't imagine doing without it, or some other form of hose management.

I chose the Hozer because it was light, disassembled quickly, and reassembled easily. IOW, I didn't have to have my husband do it for me.

I wonder if a tiny drop of vegetable oil might lubricate this joint?

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

Well, the problem seems to be that the swivel is based on the idea that the hose is to go straight from the top of my head...not straight up from the bed plane.

Hmmm, just got an idea...wonder if I got another swivel elbow to turn it up in the right direction, would work
