Now That You Know??

Post by Sleepy Boy » Tue Apr 07, 2009 9:10 am

I tried the ComforGel Nasal mask, Swift Lt. Nasal Pillows, and now I'm on the Quattro. I mouth breath, so went to the Quattro. It seemed like it was better when I first got it. I get a new mask every 90 days. I also- with the Quattro-have to wear dentures to bed to help with the leaks. Now that you've been on cpap-What would you say is the best choice for a FFM? Maybe my seal is getting bad?? Thanks for the help..Larry...

Personally, I like the ResMed UMFF, but it comes in 6 sizes, and you need the correct one. What works for most is shave before bedtime, scrub your mask seal with a washrag, and scrub your face with a washrag, be sure the seal is hitting correctly at the nose bridge, and tighten the bottom straps 1/2 cm at at time to eliminate leaks. Good Luck.

Hi, Larry.

I started my therapy with an Ultra Mirage FFM, which is what was used during my first titration at the lab. I didn't like it much and haven't used it since; it felt big and clumsy on my face, and there was too much mask area to prevent leaks.

I'm very happy with my Swift LT and a chinstrap, but I've also acquired a Liberty (hybrid) that I use whenever I'm too congested to use the LT. The Liberty works well for me when I need it a mask that covers my mouth, but it's not as leak-proof or as comfortable as my LT.
