Week Four

Post by AThom10731 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 11:21 am

Week four started off wrong but got better. I have been having issues with Liberty Nasal Pillows leaking and the straps coming undone when I turn over in bed.

The RT fitted me for a full face Comfort Gel Mask to try. They did not have my size in stock. Dropped by another branch and they gave me a nasal version. Got home, tried to make it work, and was not successful. Called them and they shipped me a ComfortFull instead. I called back and they had a truck drop off the Comfort Gel FFM. The RT said there was a good chance I would have issues with discomfort on the bridge of my nose. She was right especially since I have chronic sinus pain and the bridge of my nose is sensitive. I got the moleskin tape, but did not wear it very long.

During the time I spent waiting for the right FFM to show up, I began taping the Liberty straps and loosening the straps a little. I began having sinus and headache pain so I went back to the Liberty.

During the first three weeks, I would give up after around two or so hours of tossing and turning in bed. Last night I slept from 10PM until 6AM with the Liberty mask. Eight hours, yipppeeeeee. The earplugs were painful therefore I switched to radio and a Sound Therapy Relaxation Machine I had received as a Christmas gift a few years ago. The ocean waves and seagulls kept my mind off of the Darth Vader sounds last night.

Loosening the straps on the Liberty Mask and taping the straps was very helpful in keeping the mask from leaking. I think I may be onto something here. I appreaciate all of your suggestions. Things are beginning to go into the right direction for me, finally... Thank you, thank you, thank you.
